DocQ 2.1 Updates
Building on the foundation of DocQ 2.0's interface redesign, version 2.1 delivers three focused improvements that address common requests from active users.
Word Template Checkbox Support
Checkboxes in document templates have been one of DocQ's most-used data collection features — but previously, they were limited to PDF templates only.
DocQ 2.1 extends full checkbox functionality to Microsoft Word (DOCX) templates. Teams that work primarily with Word documents can now use checkboxes for:
- Compliance acknowledgments — "I confirm that I have read and understood this policy"
- Multi-select options — selecting applicable benefits, equipment requirements, or role responsibilities
- Approval checklists — managers confirming completion of onboarding steps or review items
This parity between PDF and Word templates means teams can choose their preferred document format without sacrificing form functionality.
Enhanced Document History
The audit trail in DocQ tracks every action taken on a document — who did what, when, and in what order. Version 2.1 adds deeper visibility into automated workflow steps.
Previously, when a workflow executed automatic actions (routing, notifications, status changes), the document history recorded that the action occurred. Now, the history includes additional detail about what specifically happened during each automatic step:
- Which conditions triggered the automated action
- What routing decisions the workflow engine made
- What notifications were sent and to whom
This granularity matters for compliance scenarios where auditors need to understand not just what happened, but why. When an automated workflow routes a document to a specific approver, the audit trail now explains the routing logic — not just the outcome.
Newsletter Preferences
Users can now manage their newsletter subscription directly from their DocQ profile settings. The newsletter delivers monthly updates on new platform features, capability enhancements, and company developments.
This is a small quality-of-life improvement, but it reflects a broader principle: users should control their communication preferences from within the platform, not through separate email management.
What's Next
DocQ 2.1 is a refinement release — targeted improvements that make the platform more capable for teams already using it daily. The next major release will introduce more significant capabilities. Stay tuned for updates.
